MLC provides University and NEAS-accredited English language teaching with specialised services designed around each students desire to combine study with travel, sightseeing, exploring, or simply making the most of their time in Melbourne.
Take advantage of everything that Melbourne has to offer and learn English at the same time. You'll find MLC in the heart of the city close to entertainment, shopping facilities, the central business district and transport (100 metres from Flinders Street Station).
General English is offered at Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced levels. General English at MLC teaches students the type of English which is needed for everyday life in Australia and also serves as a stepping stone to the study of English for Academic Purposes. MLC General English students have access to a modern computer lab with internet and email. MLC arranges an exciting social program with optional extra curricula excursions to sporting events, movies and local festivals.
Job Placement: International students in Australia are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week, MLC can assist with job placement and work experience.

MLC successfully prepares students for the Cambridge examinations - the most prestigious English language test throughout Europe, and one which is rapidly gaining popularity in Asia.
Cambrige certificates are recognised by educational institutions and the corporate sector throughout the world, and are regarded as an invaluable formal English language qualification.
This course is delivered three times annually - from January - March, March - June, and September - December.

[English for Academic Purposes]
For many years, the preparation of international students for tertiary studies in Australia has been one of the main English language programs run at MLC. English for Academic Purposes at MLC gives students the necessary skills for undertaking tertiary level studies. Skills such as:

A large component of MLC's English for Academic Purposes course is preparation for IELTS/TOEFL tests. Due to the high quality of our teaching and curriculum, graduates of MLC rarely require further language testing for entry to other institutions.
Students graduating from MLC do not need to take an IELTS/TOEFL tests for direct entry into Stotts Colleges Students are provided with advice on pathways to further study and are assisted with placement into other institutions.

* High School Placement:
MLC has very close links with many private and government high schools throughout Victoria. School placement can be arranged for students upon request, and expert advice is provided on the most appropriate school for students.
* Students frequently display a wide range of individual differences, and the range of schools available in Melbourne offer an ideal school for everyone.
* First Language and Academic Counselling:
MLC takes very special care of its young students, and first-language counselling is available in most European and Asian languages. Academic counselling is an ongoing service, of great value to students aiming to meet their goal of achieving the entry level of high school studies.

"The High School Preparation Program at Melbourne Language Centre provides overseas students with a safe and secure environment to better their English Language skills. * Course Description:
High School Preparation provides the study of English for the key subject areas such as: Maths, Science, Computing and Humanities. Students are taught research and study skills combined with a regular homework program.
* The High School Preparation Program includes twice weekly computer sessions in our computer laboratory and a sports program once a week.
* The course aims to provide students with the level of English language required for the challenge of studying at Australian High Schools. Graduates of MLC are mature, confident and adapt easily to the Australian schools environment.
