In line with this commitment to educational quality at Ascend, we offer the following support services to our international students: We have 5 full-time professionally qualified English teachers(including our Director of Studies) registered with MOE. We have a maximum teacher-student ratio of 1:15 for all part-time and full-time certificate courses to ensure you have enough time to practice your speaking and for your teacher to be able to give you individual attention. We have 6 classrooms each with a capacity of 15 students each and a multimedia language lab with 45 networked pc on high speed broadband. We have the capacity to take 180 full-time students on our premises. We provide counseling support to our international students. We provide 24 hour phone support to our students in the event of an emergency. We have a commitment to community involvement for our international students through our Extra Cultural Activities (ECAs) which are organized at least once a term. We provide support for international students who wish to register for the IELTS examin collaboration with IDP Education Pte Ltd who are one of the two organizations who run the IELTS test in Singapore. We have a Fee Protection Scheme as required by the Council for Private Education (CPE) in the form of an Escrow Account with the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS). All full-time Ascend international students are covered by a Group Medical Insurance Scheme with HSBC Singapore which has been purchased on their behalf by Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd in line with CPEs requirements.
